Hurricane in Northern New Brunswick

On Sunday, October 6th a major hurricane hit the Maritimes doing a tremendous amount of damage to the Betterville community.

Everyone in the community was devastated from the damage that was done. Small buildings and garages were torn apart, cars were smashed by the tumbling trees and strong winds.

Thankfully there was only minor damage done to the houses. Some shingles were torn off and shutters were thrown off the house and laying all over the yard.

"This hurricane did not only do damage to the community but also to the people in the community" says officer Dan Maverick.

The local news team was also gathering information about this tragic storm. Judy Smith, the news reporter says "this storm is the worst I have seen in all of my reporting days".

One year late the Betterville community was back on track, also the people in this community are finally feeling better and are hoping that a storm like this will never come again.
